Paul’s interest in swimming began when he took his daughter to Wigan pool for her swimming lessons. When his daughter was invited to join Wigan Swimming Club, he decided to join as well and worked his way up to become a Level 2 Coach and eventually the club’s chairman. He also became a Judge Level 2/2S and has officiated at various galas in the Northwest region. After serving as the Head Coach at St Helens Swimming Club for two years, he seized the opportunity to establish a new and ambitious swimming club at the newly opened Formby Pool. Formby Swimming Club was born.

Ethan is an experienced and accomplished swimmer, now our Deputy Head Coach and Team Manager. With a passion for the sport, he has dedicated his life to honing his expertise in swimming, specifically excelling in the area of technique. His remarkable experience reflects his success in coaching swimmers, having spent over six years at the club, helping young swimmers achieve their potential. His unwavering commitment to the sport and his team is evident in his daily practice as he motivates and inspires the swimmers to reach new heights. Ethan remains a pivotal figure who brings his knowledge, expertise, and passion for swimming to every practice, inspiring and shaping a generation of Formby swimmers.
